Well, blogging is kind of a first for me, so bear with me. But I guess at my age if I could tackle Facebook and Twitter, I can tackle this!
I don't know about you, but I can't even imagine my life without cats. Yes I have a husband and a daughter that I adore, but for me, my home just wouldn't feel like a home without cats. I currently have 3. Muffin is 8 years old. She's very small and petite and she rules the roost. My beloved cat Tikki died 3 years ago at the age of 18. He died in his sleep. He was Muffin's best friend. I miss him dearly. We also have 2 siamese cat sisters named Margaret and Skittles. They are 2 years old. How we got them is kind of complicated. But basically a neighbor had a cat named Lilly. We have always had a habit of feeding all the neighborhood or stray cats who happen to show up in our front yard. Lilly would visit a lot. Lilly was pregnant a lot. Her owners just allowed her to breed indiscriminately. Anyway to make a long story short, we discovered that Lilly had her most recent litter of kittens in a neighbor's yard. That neighbor didn't know who Lilly belonged to, so we pretended to be her owner and they let us in their back yard to get her and her kittens. We took the 5 kittens home. We let Lilly in and out of our house to nurse the kittens. When they were weaned we found great homes for 3 of them and kept 2 of them. I tried to talk to Lilly's owners about having her spayed, they weren't interested. I tried to talk to the local humane society, but there wasn't anything they could do. Lilly got pregnant at least 2 or 3 more times. You would see little kittens wandering the neighborhood and know that they were hers. I haven't seen Lilly in a long time. Well, I tried to do my part and Margaret and Skittles are beloved members of our household and we can't imagine our lives without them.
Well that's enough for now. More to come later!
